1968-A letter penned by a Pope
Written with love to give the world hope
Poorly received by a world in despair-
Most folks thought the Church just didn’t care.
Here we are now fifty years later
With all our contraception is the world any better?
Or has our poverty of spirit only become worse?
Poor in love, we live under a curse.
Millions of tiny babies have died;
Millions of grieving mothers have cried.
All the Pope’s prophecies have come about:
Of this there can no longer be any doubt.
The beauty of sex sacred to husband and wife
Blesses their love if they are open to life.
